Mrs. Thompson's Art Class

The district Art Show was a huge success!  We had 50 pieces that were selected from our school to represent Elizabeth Smith Elementary.  This year, for the first time in the history of our school,we won a trophy for best in show.  Connor Thompson was selected for his Glass Bowl.  Way to go Connor!  Congratulations to all of our Art Show participants.  I am very proud of each and every one of you.

The last day to turn in any packets will be on Friday, March 2nd.   Thank you to everyone that has turned in their packet already!  I will send an email out to every family to confirm receipt of your order.  If you do not receive a confirmation email from me in the next few days then your child’s packet has not made it down to my room.  Thank you!

Sometime during the next week your child will bring home an envelope labeled Art To Remember.  If you are interested in ordering gifts with your child’s art work please:

• Fill out the order form completely.
• Enclose a check made out to Elizabeth Smith Elementary.
• Return everything in the envelope by Friday, March 2nd.

Their pictures turned out fabulous and I can’t wait to see some of the items that will come in!

¶  Kindergarten- Crazy Cactus

• This is a project is a continuation from before the break.  I hope to finish this up in the next week or so.  We have finished drawing, coloring and painting the cactus.  The parts that we need to complete are the needles and glitter.

¶  First Grade- Shimmering Foam Art

• We started this just before we left for the break.  This project is a lot of fun.  Media will include fun foam, glitter and paint.

¶  Second Grade-Mosaic Portraits

• Second Grade is dangerously close to finishing this project.  They are looking AMAZING!

¶  Third Grade- Blazing Banyan Tree

• This will be a new project we start this week.  Pictures will be posted later.

¶  Fourth Grade-Hugo Cabret

• As you know we started this project before the break.  I can’t wait to post pictures for you to see.
